Voyager is a 14-track concept album, and the first album by space music alias, Ariah.

Story

The album is set during the opening events of the 1998 video game, Unreal, from the perspective of Ariah, as the planet of Na Pali is invaded by aliens. Ariah, being a peaceful native creature of the planet, and expecting to give birth, seeks safety from the attacks, but is ultimately forced to flee the planet in search of a new home, temporary or otherwise.

The first seven tracks take place on Na Pali, while the rest take place in outer space. The album ends with Ariah locating one of the Voyager spacecrafts, and with it, one of the Voyager Golden Records.

Sound

The album was made as a way of revisiting the old, chilled, spacey style of older General Mumble works, such as Unrealectric, but with new musical production skills and habits.

The music on the album takes inspiration from the soundtracks of Unreal and Unreal Tournament, which were written by Alexander BrandonMichiel van den Bos , Dan Gardopée and Andrew Sega. Sound effects from Unreal also make frequent appearances during the album.

All tracks have ambient or narrative passages in between them, to seamlessly connect them and keep the story fluid.
