Groaning Mitochondria, known as "the world's first microscopic groan drone band", is a spoken-word and ambient band made up of many thousands of slightly disgruntled mitochondria.
Name
Bearing the initials "G.M.", the name was used by General Mumble as an alternative to that alias on Skype. One afternoon, the debut EP "Real Mitochondria Problems" was made under the alias "Groaning Mitochondria".
